Macalister Lane - Chee Cheong Fun

This is the second place for Chee Cheong Fun. It is operated by 2 elderly couple. It was the first dish we ordered when we arrived and it only came about 20 mins later. And trust me, it's not because they are slow. But it was worth the wait.

The texture of the rice sheets and the not-so-strong "hae-ko" smell... Oh, and it is not very oily... Overall, we really enjoyed it!

New Lane - Chee Cheong Fun

Chee cheong fun are square rice sheets which are used in asian cuisine. The sheets are made from a viscous mixture of rice flour and water. This liquid is poured onto a specially-made flat pan in which it is steamed to produce the square rice sheets. Chee cheong fun can be served with different flavour of sauce. In Penang, Chee Cheong Fun is served with "hae ko", oil, sesame seetd & chilli sauce. Chee cheong fun @ New Lane is very popular amongst the locals. However, we found it to be a little too oily, which spoils the taste.
